Hunter is a superannuation and insurance lawyer who joined the Berrill & Watson Team in 2017. He is a Senior Associate in the Queensland office and works primarily on disputes relating to:
Hunter has run cases in the District and Supreme Courts in Queensland in addition to several matters in the Federal Court, and he has worked on cases in the NSW Supreme Court. Hunter has also pursued dozens of complaints at the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) on behalf of consumers.
Hunter specialises in running difficult, high-value cases, including claims that have already been declined for technical reasons such as non-disclosure and which other firms would not pursue.
Hunter is particularly passionate about pursuing cases for people with chronic lifelong conditions, including mental health conditions, neurological conditions, pain syndromes (e.g. fibromyalgia) and fatigue syndromes (CFS/ME). He prides himself on helping these people win their cases, as they are often vulnerable and can sometimes be unfairly treated by insurance companies.
When he’s not working, Hunter enjoys spending time having a nice meal with his fiance, friends and family, going to see some live music or watching Formula One.
